Blackburn music store's advert plan
5:00pm Monday 7th October 2013 in Blackburn
BOSSES at a music superstore are hoping to reach out to a national audience after launching a television advert.
Reidy’s Home of Music, in Blackburn, invited residents and shoppers to take part in the commercial, which will be shown on four satellite channels.
It was filmed in the Fielden Street store, which has a spectacular wall of guitars, and shows performers on the in-store stage.
Managing director Paul Nuttall said the advert would be seen be 500,000 people every month.
He said: “We are very lucky that my brother Chris has four TV stations on Sky and so we have been able to put the shop on an advert to be shown on the four channels.
“They are Clubland TV, Channel AKA, Greatest Hits and Planet Pop.
“We are reaching out to the target audience, which is 15 to 34-year-old to tell them that we are here, we are in Blackburn and come and visit us.”
In total, Reidy’s, which is the largest music superstore outside of London, holds more than 4,000 different electric and acoustic guitars in stock.
It has a massive array of amps and an extensive selection of left hand models.
The 6.500 square foot building also has a permanent stage, which offers visitors live demonstrations by specialists from some of the leading brands of instruments including Fender and Gibson guitars and Yamaha keyboards.
The shop moved to its new home last year and had previously been based in Penny Street.
Mr Nuttall said: “The advert looks really nice.
“We are quite big around the country anyway, but we are hoping that this will raise our profile.
“It was fantastic to have the camera crews and all of the participants here.
“We are really excited to see the advert on TV.”
