Social media boost for Blackburn adoption charity
8:00pm Thursday 14th March 2013 in Blackburn
AN adoption charity has seen its web traffic skyrocket after releasing an emotive social media campaign.
Adoption Matters North West posted a picture of a mother and daughter on Facebook above the strapline ‘Think of those children without a mum this Mother’s Day and share this because adoption matters’.
The image was shared by 3,000 Facebook users, making it the organisation’s most popular post yet.
AMNW chief executive Norman Goodwin said: “We know that more enquiries are coming through online methods than ever before.
“This recent campaign just goes to show how effective a recruitment channel it can be for us.
“There’s a real need for adopters to come forward so we urge people to get in touch by any means if they think that they can offer a child a home.
“There are still thousands of children in the UK who are still waiting to be part of a loving, supportive and permanent family.
“We accept applications from people of all different backgrounds, regardless of age, ethnicity or marital status.
“So if you think you have what it takes to make a real difference to the lives of these children, then please get in touch today.”
