Supporters' trust issues rallying cry to Blackburn Rovers supporters

A NEW supporters’ trust for Blackburn Rovers fans launches at an event tomorrow.

Rovers Trust, a group set up to raise funds to buy the Ewood Park club, will be launched at Blackburn Cathedral, at 10am.

The trust, which has been backed by former players Simon Garner and Glenn Keeley, costs £10 to join.

Members can also pledge £1,000 towards an initial target of £10million to try to bring the club into fan ownership. The trust is also promising a Rovers Rewards scheme for shareholders who could receive up to 5per cent annual return for 20 years, depending on their membership level.

Co-chairman Oliver Jones said: “We now need supporters to join Rovers Trust in their thousands to show the club we mean business.”

Move on, new manager new era!!!! Yes Venkys have made huge mistakes but lets see if they have made the right one with Berg and back him financially in January like no supporters trust would be able to.

Would be grate if the fans did have a stake in the club, it would at least reduce the chances of the last 2 years being repeated, but it is all a bit pie in the sky though!!!

What happens to the money pledged to the old BRSIT or whatever they were called? This looks like a different Trust with different aims

Yes its a new era and we can all get behind Berg but if you suddenly think that Venkys are now "great owners" with "Rovers best interests at heart" then you are a fool.

They are the same scum owners that they have always been - what has really changed ? - they didnt even sack Kean - he RESIGNED (if it was up to Desai he'd probably still be our manager).

Some people have very short memories !!!!!

The club has turned corner. The Venkys were naive in the last two years and have been taken for a ride by certain people. They are good people and have now realised their mistakes. Kean just did'nt resign, he was pushed out.We have good players now, good manager and the club has turned the corner. Its other people's prerogative whether they support the Venkys or players or club etc. The manager and Venkys have my support. I would have been interested in this venture before but not anymore.

No thank you pay £10 to join and thousand pound to buy the club back from Venkys for £48 million ? We might need another £100 million to buy quality players for premier league ? This is a non starter because people in Blackburn right now strugling to make ends meet. There is a recession i might loose my jobs and thousands others fears everyday of loosing thier jobs.We might loose roof over our heads and scrapping every pennies to put food on the table and paying our bills like mortgage, utility bills council tax etc etc.The club is now owned by Venkys who bought it from Walkers. It's like this i sold my house or shop to someone else then the new owners run their shop or properties how they like it.Football business is bad business ,millionaires and billionaires put their own personnel wealth into these football clubs and the owners gets no return in this football business. The Venkys have brought in new manager Henning Berg and BRFC is now going in the right direction for me.I am returning to Ewood Park and i am going to my beloved BRFC again.Think again this is not the answer to current BRFC problems. If these 10,000 stayaway fans want no part of BRFC again then fine we 15,000 fans will go to Ewood Park every week to support our new manager, players and Venkys now realised their mistakes in the last two years. We have no other choice but to support BRFC ,manager and his players.I urge the people behind this to think again ,this is a non starter .

It's just the syndicate/agent parasite PR brigade out to protect their freeloading commission. They will milk the club for all it's worth and leave the fans with a skeleton. While clueless idiots pay to support them then there is no hope for the future of the club.

Oh yeah...more commission payments for the agency and the syndicate!! The whole thing is one big fiddle...the club is already dead and their man Berg is supporting it.
