TOP soap star Michelle Keegan added a touch of glamour to a fashion extravaganza at Blackburn's Mall on Saturday.

Thousands of people were treated to the show in Victoria Court featuring a selection of clothes from shops in the centre.

Michelle, who plays Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, posed for pictures and signed autographs for fans in the afternoon.

Throughout the show the 25-year-old actress took to the stage to talk about her fashion likes and to offer tips.

Michelle Keegan said: “I have really enjoyed my time at The Mall Blackburn and even got two pairs of fabulous pyjamas from Primark.”

The show also featured Danielle Hunter, from Accrington, Chris Ham, from Darwen, and Christopher Hodgson and Nafisa Karbhari, from Blackburn, who were the winners of The Mall’s Lancashire’s Got Style model search.

Nafisa Kharbari said: “I have really enjoyed myself today, the atmosphere has been great!”

Gabrielle Close, nine, from Blackburn, went to meet Michelle with her mum, brother and sister.

Her mum Catherine Shaw, 34 said: “We are all big fans of Coronation Street and Michelle, especially Gabrielle and her brother.

“Michelle was lovely and very down to earth, she even gave my son a kiss on the cheek.”

Loraine Jones, general manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “The show has been even more successful than last years, I think that Michelle has attracted a lot of people.

“We wanted Michelle to come because she is a style queen, everyone loves her, girls want to be like her and the boys want to be with her.

“It has been a fantastic opportunity to showcase what The Mall has to offer and the timing has worked well with it being just after pay day for most people and the winter collections just being released.

“We expect that around 75,000 people will have come throughout the day. This is similar to the numbers we get at Christmas weekend.”
