Accrington Stanley have launched an appeal for a new sponsor to rename the Crown Ground.

The club are looking for bids of around £45,000 seven months after their deal with ‘international soft drinks firm’ Colane for a ‘sizeable’ amount fell through Chief Executive Rob Heys said the club were now on a firm financial footing and wanted a sponsor to help them achieve new heights.

The club has announced that it is in talks with a number of businesses about different sponsorship opportunities but is still searching for the right partner to put their name to its Crown Ground stadium.

The club say the sponsorship deal is their next priority after kicking off the season under the new management team of Paul Cook and Leam Richardson .

Accrington Stanley FC managing director Rob Heys said: “We’re looking for the right commercial partner to take us to the next level by sponsoring our stadium — not only does it offer incredible media coverage via mentions in national press, TV and radio, but it gives them the opportunity to be associated with one of the most famous clubs in the football league.

“We’re an ambitious club and the right sponsor could help us achieve new heights.”

The planned sponsorship deal with Colane Tropical Mineral Water UK Ltd had expected to last 18 months and was to see the Crown Ground renamed.

An amount for the ‘sizeable’ deal was never formally announced, however the Crown Ground was set to be renamed after the signing of the deal.
