BLACKBURN Cathedral played host to a packed programme of events yesterday for its second summer fete.
The grounds around the 20th century building were transformed into a bustling community area and among the many attractions was an outdoor performance of the Wind In The Willows by Pendle Productions.
An alpaca, goats, pigs and rabbits were among the creatures that trotted into the town centre for the Wellybobs Animal Roadshow and Samuel Hudson, the cathedral’s director of music, recited a selection of summer time organ classics.
Visitors were treated to tours around the bell tower and hand bell demonstrations and an array of snakes and lizards from the North West Reptile Club invaded the cathedral.
