PUPILS at a Burnley primary school have been having a splashing time after taking delivery of a log flume boat.
St Stephen's CE Primary School in Woodland Grove has spruced up its playground with one of the 24 carriages which formed the famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach ride.
Pupils were able to get to grips with the boat during breaktime at the school yesterday.
The log flume ride was dismantled earlier this month with owners of the attraction feeling it had finally had its day after 40 years at the seaside resort.
But the school has ensured part of the ride, which carried 20 million people in its lifetime, will live on.
The school won the 9ft by 4ft boat in a competition after pupils stressed they should own the boat because their infant playground did not have much play equipment.
But now they have an attraction to be proud of and enjoing the ride' are Daniel Howard, Sophie Layfield, Courtney Gilbert and Daniel Nutter, front.
