A TEENAGER who lured two vulnerable girls to a squalid house in Accrington so three men could rape them is facing jail.

Stephanie Knight, 19, sobbed in the dock today as a jury found her guilty of the sex plot after a three-week trial at Burnley Crown Court.

Her co-defendants Amjad Hussain, 34, his brother Shahid Hussain, 39, and Tanveer Butt, 39 were all convicted of rape charges.

They were warned by judge Beverley Lunt that they faced long prison sentences.

The incident saw two girls plied with alcohol and drugs in Burnley before being driven to a house in Accrington and attacked.

The jury had been told how Knight, who has been in care from the age of 11, had invited the two victims, then aged 16, out for the evening on December 5, 2009.

Police said Knight was in a relationship with Amjad Hussain, twice her age, from the age of 16 or 17.

Knight, of Queen Street, Rawtenstall, Amjad Hussain, of Sharples Street, Accrington, and Tanveer Butt, of St Albans Street, Rochdale, were each convicted of two counts of conspiracy to rape, between December 4 and 7, 2009.

Shahid Hussain, of Drake Street, Rochdale, was convicted of three counts of rape, Knight and Butt were found guilty of aiding and abetting rape, Butt was also convicted of one count of rape, and Amjad Hussain was also found guilty of three rape allegations and one count of assault by penetration.

Shahid Hussain was cleared of two allegations of conspiracy to rape by the jury, on the direction of Judge Beverley Lunt.

Butt, a married man, was found not guilty by the jury of two rape charges.

Judge Lunt said the gang would be on the sex offenders' register, probably for the rest of their lives.

The Hussain brothers, who both have partners, protested their innocence as they were led away from the dock after being remanded in custody along with Knight.

Shahid Hussain shouted ‘I have not done this’ and his brother added ‘we are innocent’. The victims were said to have been driven back to an empty property in Craven Street, where Amjad Hussain used to live.

There, the Hussain brothers and Butt subjected one of the girls to a terrifying ordeal as she was repeatedly sexually attacked.

The court heard he stopped the second girl from going to her friend’s aid as she was being raped by Shahid Hussain and was screaming.

Shahid Hussain was said to have dragged her into a bedroom and slid a wardrobe across the door.

The two girls were eventually driven home in the early hours by Amjad Hussain, who raped them both and committed a sex act on the second girl on the way, allegedly after producing a knife.

Giving evidence, Knight had denied that she agreed to provide the men with girls for non-consensual sex.
