A DOG owner said her pet was unlikely to fully recover from a 'savage park attack' by a white pitbull cross breed.
Owner Helen Pilkington is devastated after Yorkshire terrier Ziggy's spinal column and jugular vein were torn when he was attacked in a Darwen’s Watery Lane park area.
Mrs Pilkington said: “I was astonished because the dog seemed friendly and licked my hand – then he went straight for Ziggy, shaking him like a toy.
"It could easily happen to other dogs and even children if this dog’s or its owners are not found.”
Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident, which happened on Monday, June 21.
