Revving up for charity

HUNDREDS of toys were donated to two hospitals following the Accrington Motorcycle Club's annual Easter Toy Run.

Around 60 riders set off from the Hope and Anchor Pub, Whalley Road, Accrington, and had a police escort to Blackburn Royal Infirmary and Queen's Park Hospital.

Also in the convoy was a transit van full of toys which had been collected by the club for poorly children.

Mick Priestley, chairman of the club, said: "It was a success, although in previous years we have donated more, but the weather was against us."
