Rylands A 28 Clock Face Miners 14

AFTER an evenly-fought first half, Clock were caught napping at the start of the second period when the home side scored two converted tries to open up a 16-2 lead.

Despite this setback, Clock continued to compete but were unable to stop Rylands going further ahead midway through the half with another converted try.

With the game seemingly out of their reach, Clock hit back with a try by Phil Brown, who forced his way over from acting half-back, Steve Rybczynski landing the conversion to add to his earlier penalty goal.

This lifted the visitors' spirits and minutes later Wayne Prescott went over for their second try, again goaled by Rybczynski, to put them right back in the game at 22-14.

But Rylands had the last word with a converted try in the last minute.

Best for Clock were Dean Barber, Steve Hayes and Graham Leadbetter.
