Bold Miners 14 Adlington Rangers 24 BOLD'S title hopes suffered a setback as rivals Adlington completed a league double over the Fleet Lane side.

The visitors started well, racing into a six-point lead with a converted try, but Bold quickly replied with strong running by Ian Honey and Paul Rigby paving the way for Wes Singleton to score wide out.

Bold were in full flow now with Darren Anders and Dave Scott calling the shots in midfield. They took the lead with a try by Ste Perry, converted by Anders. And when Perry grabbed his second touchdown right on half-time, after good work by Chris Burgess, they looked to be heading for a good win.

In the second half though the big Adlington pack began to get on top and only solid defence, with Scott and Mark Saunders to the fore, kept them at bay.

Eventually though Rangers' pressure paid off as they ran in three converted tries in the last 10 minutes to take the spoils.

For Bold, the Grundy Excavations man-of-the-match went to Ian Honey, with Dave Scott, Mark Saunders and Darren Anders also playing well.
