PRESCOT started the New Year with this narrow defeat at the hands of a useful Prenton side.
Prenton deservedly led 5-0 at the interval after a well-worked move resulted in a try in the corner.
Prescot came out stronger in the second half and Number Eight Chris Leigh sprinted 50 yards to score a try which he also converted to give his side the lead. However, Prenton clinched victory with a late penalty goal.
Chris Leigh was Prescot's man of the match with Dave Whitfield and Daz Smith also in good form.
