STAFF at a Blackburn pub have been reliving their youth and buying school uniforms for a fundraising night.

All nine members of staff at F J Nichols, in Northgate, and The Works nightclub -- including the men -- will be dressed as schoolgirls from 8.30pm tonight until 1am.

Although the doormen have refused to join in the fancy dress they will have collection buckets on the door.

Money collected will go towards buying a new minibus for Broadlands special needs school in Blackburn.

Assistant manager Joanne Calf said: "Everyone's really excited about it and they have been going to the charity shops and school shops to buy their uniforms.

"We are going to have theme nights every first Friday of the month to raise money for local charities but this month only we are launching it on the second Friday ."

Next month's event will be for Queen's Park Hospital baby unit when staff will be dressed as doctors and nurses and in March they will become cowboys and Indians to raise money for the Only Foals and Horses animal sanctuary.
