DAVID Moyes celebrated his three year anniversary in charge of Preston this week desperate to get North End out of their worst run of his managerial career.

Six defeats in seven games is something Moyes and his players haven't been used to since he led them from Second Division relegation zone to the verge of the First Division play-offs.

And now he needs to get the Deepdale side back on the winning trail when they make the trip to Wimbledon tomorrow -- who have won just one league game at home this season, the worst home record in the league.

"Obviously I would like three points tomorrow but I feel I have already had a present -- getting promotion," said the Preston chief.

"In the three years here I think we've made a great deal of progress, in the next three years we aim to go higher again. This spell has been tough but I think you have got to look at the whole picture."

North End are hoping to build on the second half of their performance against Blackburn on Wednesday when the fought back from 3-0 down to make it 3-2.

"I'm still disappointed that we didn't get anything out of the game but, apart from the first 20 minutes, I'm pleased with the response the players showed.

"Hopefully we can build on that and take it forward once more in the right direction.

"We are in a situation where everything seems difficult. The recovery period is less this week after playing Blackburn on Wednesday and travelling to Wimbledon today but sometimes, in difficult circumstances, you pull out your best results."

Doubts for tomorrow's trip are skipper Sean Gregan, who is still troubled by a knee injury which kept him out of last Saturday's FA Cup defeat by Stockport, and Rob Edwards is still struggling with a virus.

And striker Brian McBride may start on the bench again leaving the former Old Trafford pair of Jon Macken and David Healy to start their second game up front together.

Definitely out are winger Iain Anderson, Dominic Ludden and striker Bjarki Gunnlaugsson who will see a specialist in Cambridge after a recurrence of a hip problem.

Meanwhile, Moyes has confirmed he's asked about two players out of a trio -- Chelsea's Bernard Lambourde, Blackburn's Simon Grayson and Gillingham defender Roland Edge. "I have enquired about two of the players but it wouldn't be fair to say who. Nothing has come of it."
