HOW did you celebrate the New Year? With a party, dinner or visit to family or friends perhaps?
On driving through Ramsbottom on New Year's Day I saw how some had celebrated, that is if "celebrated" is the correct word. Three bus shelters, between Holcombe Brook and Lancaster Avenue, had been smashed! No doubt there were other examples of this kind of vandalism throughout the whole of Bury.
What a sad state of affairs, sad for all those who use the bus shelters, sadder still for those who think that breaking things is fun.
In March we shall be welcoming visitors to our town from Woodbury in New Jersey, USA. What kind of impression are we going to make on them and on any other visitors we may attract?
