POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an assault on an 18-year-old student in the early hours of Christmas morning at the junction of Water Street and Waterloo Street in the town centre.
The victim was attacked with a broken bottle and was badly wounded as a result.
Another 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with a Section 18 wounding.
