WINDLEHURST Primary School has been awarded the £50 top prize in St Helens Council's Walk to School Week road safety scheme.
The event, which encouraged children and parents to leave their cars at home to protect the environment, proved to be very successful with schools throughout St Helens taking part.
Pupils and parents were then asked to fill in questionnaires giving their opinion of the event and Windlehurst returned the most forms to take the £50 prize.
