FORMER primary school teacher Pat Hughes is one of two new non-executive directors appointed to the board of the St Helens and Knowsley Community Health (NHS) Trust.
Pat, who lives in Prescot, taught at primary schools in Huyton and Whiston before becoming a teacher trainer at schools all over Merseyside.
She took part in her first Trust board meeting following her appointment by the Secretary of State for Health.
Pat has a particular interest in heart disorders in the young and how families come to terms with the death or long-term illness of a child with any special need.
