THE Centurions' Alliance side made it two wins and draw from their opening three games with a resounding 36-18 success over Oldham at Hilton Park on Wednesday night.

Although the game could have gone either way at half time as Leigh held a narrow 12-6 lead, three tries in the first 14 minutes of the second period saw the Centurions move out to 30-6.

Aussie back Michael Watts showed neat finishing to collect two tries on his home debut while Samoan international half-back Willie Swann was in good form, especially in the second half and picked up another four pointer.

Club skipper Kieron Purtill was going well until he damaged an ankle but Paul Norman showed he had fuly recovered from a dislocated finger by playing strongly for the full 80 minutes.

Tries from Watts and Chris Halliwell plus two Lee Sanderson goals game Leigh a 12-6 interval lead after Oldham had taken an early 6-0 advantage.

Watts broke through six minutes into the second half to claim his second and he was quickly followed over the line by Swann and Neil Donlan.

Second rower Craig Wingfield scored Leigh's sixth try when put in by Swann. Wingfield, who took over the kicking duties in the second half, finished with four from four including one off the touchline.

The Alliance side sent Featherstone crashing to their biggest home loss for four years as Mark Bailey's team rattled up a 44-6 win at Post Office Road last week.

On a ground where they were hammed 62-16 last season, Leigh were in red hot form with Willie Swann, Kieron Purtill, Saf Patel and Neil Donlan all showing up well.

Leigh's points came from tries by Donlan, Swann, Patel, Jason Johnson, Ian Lewis, Darren Pilkington, Simon Hartley and Craig Wingfield with Lee Sanderson adding six goals.
