PRESTON fans should get their first glimpse of striker Richard Cresswell in a North End shirt as they welcome Wolves to Deepdale tonight.

The Leicester man has been signed on loan until the end of the season with a fee agreed between the two clubs if both parties are happy.

North End manager David Moyes has been chasing the 23-year-old for several seasons and says he will play some part tonight.

"He has always been someone who has quite appealed to us.

"Brian McBride has left us and we needed to try and get someone who can come here and, if there are injuries, go straight in without weakening the side.

"It's not easy getting someone like this on loan but Preston is now a place players want to come to."

Cresswell hasn't played for several weeks and could start on the bench.

"He is a strong, hard-working, athletic centre forward. He has good, clever feet around the box and is a decent size."

American international McBride has returned home after the Major League Soccer turned down a bid of more than a £1m for the 28-year-old. He has gone to his club Columbus Crew.

"We can possibly bring him back again on loan next season," admitted Moyes.

Preston can re-enter the top six with victory tonight -- and will aim to see off the Town End with a victory.

The stand, built in 1906, is being knocked down after tonight's game.
