EVEN with a detection rate as low as 26 per cent, one would have thought Lancashire Constabulary could have worked out why they are bottom of the 'approval rating' league (LET, October 22).
Do they not read the letters pages in this paper or your editorials, including the excellent one in the same issue?
I recently pointed out how quick they are to refute figures which show them in a low light.
Normally law-abiding people, fined heavily for minor speeding transgressions and badly thought-out defences by the police in their war with motorists, have played their part in the alienation of the populace.
What are they going to do to improve matters?
