BLACKPOOL'S newest independent gay venue, ConnXtions, is on the lookout for new talent.

Following in the true tradition of the club motto "Dare to be Different", ConnXtions is launching a new comedy night in September.

The series of comedy nights at the ' pink pub' on the corner of Church Street and Cookson Street will showcase up and coming comedians as well as a variety of well-known players on the circuit.

ConnXtions are confident that they are set to become one of the leading northwest comedy venues, playing host to new talent that will one day be as noted as Graham Norton and Julian Clary.

Jeff Davis, club owner said: "It's difficult for new talent to get breaks on the club circuit so we're looking to become a launch pad for new and upcoming talent from across the north west.

"We are trying to give young people the breaks they deserve.

"This is why we are launching "The Comedy Zone".

It's a great chance for potential stars of the future to show what they can do.

So, if you can work a gay audience, have talent, can make people laugh and want a break, contact Jeff at ConnXtions on 01253 621274.

ConnXtions are also putting a call out for male and female strippers.

THE California Dream Inn, Blackpool's first entertainment complex for the gay community, opens in mid-September.

Guests at the 25-bedroomed hotel, to be situated above ConnXtions, will need to walk only a few steps to enjoy night club and cabaret venue entertainment facilities.

"We're excited about this new venture and we think it's really good for the town, too," said owner, Jeff Davis.

FOR an outrageous night, got to an amazing Fairy Likwid fun night held at ConnXtions on the last Saturday in the month (starting August 30).
