ONE in 10 Lancashire primary school pupils speaks English as a second language, Government figures reveal.
The statistics, released by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, show that 7,331 primary students - or 9.7 per cent - speak another language at home.
And the figures also reveal that at 55 of the county’s 614 schools, more than 20 per cent of pupils speak English as a second language.
The information was released by Schools Minister Jim Knight following a written question by Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans.
