AN Edwardian feature of Sunnyhurst Wood has been restored.
The stone sundial near the Lychgate/Chadwick Gate entrance to the park near the Sunnyhurst Pub had fallen into disrepair with damaged steps and a loose spire, which was moved by heavy rain.
The Friends of Sunnyhurst Wood raised £200 for the work to be completed.
The spire was replaced in its original position and new concrete footings were installed last week.
Friends president Dennis Gillibrand said: “It’s nice that we have sorted this out.
“It’s a real feature of the woods.”
