A charity is appealing for any leftover Ferrero Rocher boxes to use as packaging for their items, the sales of which are used to aid Ukraine.
We-RebuildUkraine.org have produced items such as mugs and candles to promote their cause, and the money goes to Barnabus Aid, who currently have workers on the ground in Ukraine supporting people affected by the war with Russia.
Now they have added baby bibs to their stock, but require suitable packaging to sell them in.
Sue Saxon, from Rossendale, who runs the charity, says that the 24-piece containers for the chocolate and hazelnut confectionary are the perfect size for the bibs, which are adorned with the phrases ‘Born to be Loved’ and ‘We Rebuild Ukraine’.
She added: “They’re just the Ferrero Rocher boxes that people will have got for Christmas – the square ones.
"We’ve made some bibs and it has the word ‘Born to be Loved’, ‘We Rebuild Ukraine’, and the year on.
"We did it last year in 2022 and now obviously these ones will have 2023. Hopefully people will buy them whenever someone has a baby and it’ll be in a nice plastic box.
“We’ll charge £5.99 and we’ll give 10 per cent of everything we sell.”
Anybody who has containers they can donate should drop them off at Darling Buds of Rossendale on Kay Street, Rawtenstall.
Sue will be selling her products at the opening of the new antiques centre in Borough Road, Darwen, at its opening on Saturday (January 28).
