A Blackburn mum has said her children were ‘traumatised’ by a Grinch costume she ordered from Amazon which didn't quite live up to its billing.

Angie Dickinson, 43, ordered a Grinch costume from Amazon to wear on Christmas Day, but has instead ended up with a hilarious version which is not quite what was advertised.

In true Grinch fashion – instilling fear instead of spreading Christmas cheer - the £40 outfit has left Angie’s children, between the ages of two and 17, terrified and 'traumatised'.

The mask that arrived resembled something you’d expect to see in a horror, not a family Christmas film.

Angie said: “My 17-year-old was actually scared. When I put it on, she kept telling me to get away from her, it was so funny.

“One of my kids has been fine and has just been playing with it, completely unbothered, but my other kids were begging me to take the mask off, saying, ‘ew mum get it off now.’

“The actual costume isn’t too bad, it’s just the mask. It looks nothing like the picture on Amazon and it’s a completely different colour. How on earth they even have the cheek to send that out, it’s bizarre.

“I should’ve looked at the reviews because one of them said ‘it’s the worst Grinch I’ve ever seen in my life’.”

Whilst it’s not the result Angie had hoped for after paying £40 for the outfit, her friends on Facebook found the costume fail hilarious, so the mum-of-five is just happy she was able to brighten up some the timeline with something light-hearted amongst “all the doom and gloom at the moment.”

Thankfully, Christmas day isn’t ruined as Angie was able to order a better Grinch costume in time for the occasion.

And the mask hasn't gone to waste, as Angie joked that it might even make an appearance next Halloween.
