Fancy running your own pub? One in East Lancashire is on the market and looking for a new owner.
The Butlers Arms in Pleasington is being advertised on the Star Pubs and Bars website and the annual rent is £51,312.
The Pleasington Lane pub, which closed its doors at the end of 2021, is described as a “picturesque pub” that is “packed with character”.
The 200-year-old building has recently been modernised whilst maintaining its traditional roots using tweed and tartan furnishings, oak, and flag stone floors.
It is said to have created an “outstanding reputation for its food” and is “the perfect pub for customers coming further afield and locals alike”.
Locals in the surrounding area are a mix of both mature and young families.
The site is suited to both casual dining or more formal occasions. It’s also ideal for those hoping to have a relaxing drink as it has an equal split between food and drinks sales.
A spokesperson for Star Pubs and Bars said: “If you are looking to take on a rural ‘picture perfect’ food pub then this is the one for you.
“This is a great pub to kick start your career in beautiful settings. These surroundings would be a great place for you to hone your creative cooking and marketing skills.”
There are four separate trading areas, some of which better suited to formal dining and others more casual.
There is a catering kitchen and seating for around 100 people.
Ideal for drinking in the summer, the pub has a patio area to the front with rounded picnic tables.
To the rear is a decked patio area with disabled access overlooking the bowling green.
Historically this has accommodated wicker tables, chairs and fire pits.
Former landlord, Mike Hales, ran the pub for five years but decided to leave for a variety of reasons, including “changes in the industry” and difficulties in finding a suitable head chef.
