A man had to be air lifted to hospital after falling down a quarry.

On Sunday afternoon the Rossendale and Pendle mountain rescue team were called to Witches Quarry near Pendle Hill.

Reports had been made that a climber had fallen and sustained multiple injuries.

Luckily, three of the mountain rescue team members were also climbing at the quarry and were able to offer swift assistance.
