A FUND-RAISING husband has agreed to wear his wife's wedding dress in exchange for permission to get a tattoo.

Lisa Hayhurst, 31, bribed her husband Andy, 29, into wearing her ivory frock to boost this year's Children In Need fund.

Lisa, of South Street, and friend Angela Whitehead, 32, of Entwistle Street, both Darwen, wanted to find an unusual way to raise funds for the charity.

And in exchange for a tattoo on his left arm with the names of his 16-month-old daughter Madison, and Bailey who is due in March, Andy has agreed to tour Darwen and Blackburn in the dress on Friday to collect donations.

Andy, who married disabled Lisa in July and is her full-time carer, said: "It's very embarrassing, I've been blackmailed but it's for a good cause.

"All my friends think it's funny. The dress fits but it's a little tight around the belly.

"At least I can have a tattoo with my daughters' names on after I've done it.

"I have walked to Preston for charity before but I have never done anything like this."

Lisa said: "We raise money for Children In Need every year.

"I know Andy wants a tattoo with the names of our children on it.

"I asked him if he would wear a dress to raise money, and he didn't want to.

"I said that he could have a tattoo of our daughter's name and the name of our baby which is due in March if he did it.

" I don't like tattoos but I know Andy has wanted one.

"The thing is, I was going to let him have one done on his birthday in January but this way he will be helping raising money for charity."

Andy will be in the St Thomas Centre, Blackburn, at 9am before heading to Munchies in Lower Darwen by midday and finishing in Darwen town centre.

Andy, Lisa and Angela have raised more than £100 and urge anyone who sees Andy in the dress to make a donation.
