A NEW website has been created to keep alive the memory of a football club which went out of business two years ago.
The unofficial memorial to Great Harwood Town, the club that spawned Blackburn Rovers youngster Matt Derbyshire, is now online.
It has been set up by the club's programme editor John Fenton, along with his friend Wayne Gudgeon, in a bid to keep the club's name alive.
Mr Fenton said: "It's nearly 18 months since Great Harwood Town FC played their last game but I wanted the website to keep the memories going.
"I've probably seen my last Harwood game, but I live in hope and the website helps raise the club's profile."
The site features a selection of stories, profiles and photos from Great Harwood Town's history. There are also player profiles of club legends and updates on where former Great Harwood players are now plying their trade.
Mr Fenton added: "Maybe David Dunn will retire from football with loads of time and cash on his hands and think 'I'll start up my home town club again'.
"In the meantime I've got loads more stuff to go on the site and I'll be following the fortunes of all ex-Harwood players."
The site can be found at the address below.
