DETECTIVES today issued a warning over the possible sale of tools after an industrial unit was burgled.

Thieves carried out what is described as 'a high-value burglary' on Monday in the Bentham area of north Yorkshire - with police fearing the ill-gotten gains will be sold on in rural Lancashire.

PC Tony Walsh, of the Ribble Valley Rural Team, said: "Due to the amount and size of property stolen, a number of offenders will have been involved in committing the offence.

"It's believed a dark-coloured Ford Focus was used by the offenders committing the offence.

"The offenders have broken into the large industrial unit and loaded an Ifor Williams trailer already in the unit with tools and generators.

"The property stolen consists of generators, petrol and mig welders, compressors, chainsaws, impact guns, a battery charger, a hedgecutter, a leaf blower, various tools and a 10ft x 5ft Ifor Williams trailer with cage sides with the serial number SCK600000A5068529.
