SEOUL: At least 67 passengers were killed and more than 120 injured

yesterday when an express train careered off the rails and turned over

in South Korea's worst railway accident for more than 40 years, a police

officer said. Victims were taken to hospitals and a rescue team using

bulldozers searched the wreckage of the coaches for possible survivors.

Darkness and rain hampered the rescue operations. Four of the eight

coaches jumped the rails and overturned shortly as the train carrying

some 700 passengers approached a station in Pusan, South Korea's second

largest city.
