A TERMINALLY ill man has won his appeal to have a life prolonging cancer drug free on the NHS.
Keith Ditchfield, 53, said his was speechless' when the result of an appeal to be given the drug were faxed to him this morning.
He had high hopes that his appeal to make health chiefs pay for Nexavar, commonly known as sorafenib, would be successful.
Mr Ditchfield, of Whalley Road, Stonyhurst, will now no longer have to pay £3,000 for the drug to treat his kidney cancer.
He said: "I'm speechless and now I can look forward to getting on with and having a good quality life."
