FILM lovers and Ghostbusters fans have been treated to a special open-air screening of the iconic 1984 classic.
A large projector screen was installed outside at St James’ Church in Accrington as part of the ninth annual Pennine Film Festival.

Visitors were also wowed by the appearance of the Ecto1 Ghostbusters car and the ghost-busting trio themselves – played by Councillor Ken Moss, Chris ‘Venkman’ and Ross Turner.
Head of town centres at the council, Cllr Clare Cleary, said: “We are happy with the turnout and it was the icing on the cake when Cllr Moss came dressed up as a Ghostbuster.”
The week-long festival, which has attracted interest from across the globe, boasts an impressive line-up of films, activities and guests that include the director of Flash Gordon and Get Carter, Mike Hodges, who was in town for a Q&A session at Accrington Town Hall.
This year’s festival is taking place across Accrington, with events being held at Accrington and Rossendale College, the town hall, St James’ Church and Grants Bar.
A screening of cult classic The Exorcist took place at Accrington Town Hall on Friday, where guests were able to enjoy the film alongside spooky cocktails.
