FOOTBALL teams have a last chance to enter this year’s historic Blackburn Orphanage Cup.

Entrance for the tournament is £80 for all works teams within an eight-mile radius of the Blackburn with Darwen borough boundaries and organisers have brought the rules up to date so that more teams than ever can be involved.

The competition is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year with the cup itself reaching the grand old age of 80.

This year for the first time the competition is working in partnership with the Lancashire FA in order to increase adult participation in the game of football.

Child Action Northwest is the charity partner of the competition.

It has donated thousands of pounds over the years to continue the services which are being offered by the charity to children, young people and families in the area.

The S7 soccer academy team will be taking part again this year.

It has won the competition for the last three years in a row.
