LANCASHIRE Police is looking for someone to represent the lesbian, gay, bisexual community on the East Independent Advisory Group.
Independent advisory groups involve community members scrutinising proposals allowing the constabulary to be open and transparent throughout the policy-making process.
They also assist by offering a community-based perspective on police plans, policy and crime and disorder strategies.
A spokesman said: "It is only by better understanding and being more representative of the communities that Lancashire Constabulary serves that confidence in the constabulary will be enhanced, which, in turn will ultimately deliver even better operational performance and a better quality of service to the communities we serve."
The meetings are once every three months and are held in a variety of venues across East Lancashire.
