The Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio pupil was nominated for the accolade with a dramatic image of Welsh driver Osian Pryce skidding round a corner on the Scottish Rally in June, along with others.

He won the award for the first time last year.

Robin, whose dad Chris is a professional photographer, said: "I've been going to these events since I was about eight-years-old and I've always loved it. We go to about 20 events a year now.

"I live, breathe and sleep rally driving and I'm always talking about it. I think it drives my mates crazy.

"I've now set up my own company and I've started selling pictures to people. I sold one recently to the British Champion."

Robin, who lives in Walsh Street, Blackburn, wants to pursue a career as a photo journalist, but also has ambitions to get behind the wheel.

He added: "I've never tried it but I'm planning to do a navigation course and maybe become a co-driver."

He is currently studying for a photography A-Level and plans to continue his studies at either UCLan or Sheffield.

The competition was open to amateur photographers capturing still imagery of the 2014 MSA British Rally Championship. Entries included on-stage action shots, to behind the scenes, ceremonial activities and atmospheric images from any of the events, competitors, teams, marshals and spectators.

The result will be announced early next month, with the trophy presentation set for January 10 on the Pirelli stand at the Autosport Show at the Birmingham NEC.
