TV star David Fishwick is hoping to make it two BAFTAs in two years after his latest documentary was nominated for the Scottish version of the awards.

The Burnley-born minibus mogul and his team are in the running for the best current affairs programme for his attempt to tackle the payday lending industry, Dave: Loan Ranger.

The one-off, hour-long show, screened earlier this year on Channel 4, is up against Panorama’s charity expose, All in a Good Cause, and BBC One Scotland’s Blethering Referendum.

Mr Fishwick and Finestripe Productions won the features and entertainment category at the BAFTA’s Scotland Awards last year.

The 43-year-old said: “I’m really excited. Channel 4 have been on the phone to congratulate me, they’re really pleased. To get one nomination is amazing but this is our third now so every year we’ve been on TV we’ve been nominated.

“It opens a lot of doors.”
