EXTRA tickets have gone on sale for a talk by former policeman Alan Godfrey about his close encounter with a UFO in Todmorden.

The sell-out event is being moved from the reception area into the main auditorium of Todmorden Hippodrome Theatre to cope with demand.

Mr Godfrey will give a rare talk about his sighting almost 34 years ago when he claims he witnessed a UFO hovering just a few metres away from his police car in Burnley Road while on duty.

Money raised from the talk on Saturday, October 18 at 7.30pm will be donated to the Mayor of Todmorden’s Charities Living Todmorden and the Hippodrome Theatre.

The Mayor, Coun Michael Gill, said: “The response has been amazing. We had to turn away one person who wanted 17 tickets all at once.”

Tickets, priced £10, are available by calling the theatre on 01706 814875, visiting www.todhip.org or calling Todmorden Information Centre on 01706 818181.
