EAST Lancashire public health bosses have stepped up their efforts to persuade smokers to quit during ‘Stoptober’ which started yesterday.
They stressed that there was still time to sign-up to the campaign to give up tobacco. Lancashire County Council is urging people to contact its special East Lancashire ‘Quit Squad’ covering Burnley, Pendle, Hyndburn, Ribble Valley, Chorley and Rossendale.
