THIRTY-five households have voiced objections to plans by the leaders of a Burnley church for a new accommodation project.

Councillors from the borough’s development control committee will run the rule next week over proposals by Rosehill Baptist Church to convert a property at Healey Grange into a house of multiple occupation.

Church leaders want to transform former accommodation for elderly people into bedrooms for nine residents, with a shared lounge, bathroom and kitchen.

Council planners have been told that the initiative would be ‘part of the church’s role within the local community’ by providing low-cost housing.
