TOP entrepreneurs are giving East Lancashire businesses a vital boost after a new online resource was launched by a Nelson communication giant.

Daisy Group PLC has developed The Inside Track featuring advice from leading experts, including Steve Smith, founder of the multi-million pound retail chain Poundland, Patrick Gallagher, chief executive of CitySprint, and Neil Westwood, one of Dragons' Den’s biggest success stories and founder of Magic Whiteboard.

The online platform features a range of articles from Daisy experts, including entrepreneur and chief executive officer Matthew Riley, who appeared as an advisor to Lord Alan Sugar on The Apprentice.

Entrepreneurs like Zoe Jackson, London ambassador for Sir Richard Branson’s ‘Start Up Loans’ scheme and Founder of Living the Dream have submitted blog articles, as have people from key industry associations including the British Franchising Association and the Chartered Institute of Personal Development.

Daisy Group, in Lindred Road Business Park, says that the website will be a ‘one-stop-shop’ resource, incorporating helpful pointers on a range of business topics.

Kate O’Brien, Daisy Group’s marketing director, said: “Small and medium-sized businesses are critical to the UK’s economic growth, and research has shown that the more ‘clued-up’ businesses are, particularly during the first few years of trading, the more likely they are to thrive and grow.
