A WOMAN punched a mother and left her with a bloody nose, upset and shaking in front of children, a court heard.

Linzi Anderson, 24, had hit victim Hayley Mann, the pair went to the ground, a scuffle followed and Miss Mann suffered what she at first thought was a broken nose.

Miss Mann had been having an altercation with a friend of Anderson's, the defendant had gone up to her and the victim had been set on when she had moved towards Anderson, Burnley Crown Court was told how a fortnight later, Anderson, who has suffered from depression, headbutted a woman in a nightclub.

She saw her in an ‘intimate embrace’ with her mother's boyfriend.

Anderson, who is due to give birth to her first child next month, admitted assaulting Miss Mann by beating on May 29, last year.

The defendant, who is on benefits, has already been sentenced for the nightclub attack, but on Monday, was given a two year conditional discharge for the common assault.

The defendant, of Mercer Street, Great Harwood, was also ordered to pay £260 compensation.

And the defendant was also made subject to a two-year restraining orde by the court, which meant banning her from contacting Miss Mann or Andrew Kenny directly or indirectly and also from entering Hope Street, Great Harwood.
