THOUSANDS of people ‘barged’ their way to Eanam Wharf at the weekend for the Blackburn Canal Festival.
The family event celebrated the history of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the importance the wharf played in the development of Blackburn.
There was a variety of dancing, music, drama performances, face painting, a bouncy castle and stalls from charities, artisan sellers and refreshments.
More than 60 boats were in attendance and there was the opportunity for people to go on canal boat trips.
It was the second year the event had been run.
