AN 85-year-old woman who suffered injuries in a car accident a fortnight ago has died.
Patricia Rudkin, from Ramsbottom, was a front-seat passenger in a Peugeot 206 that collided with a Bentley Continental in Edgworth last month.
She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but died from her injuries on Monday, police said.
The accident happened at 2.40pm on Sunday, June 22, when the Bentley, travelling down Broadhead Road towards Bolton, collided with the Peugeot as it pulled out of the junction with Bury Road.
The Peugeot driver, a 55-year-old woman from Bury, suffered whiplash, while Ms Rudkin suffered a broken leg and broken wrists. The driver of the Bentley, a 48-year-old man from Edgworth, suffered whiplash and a large cut to the head.
The road was closed for four hours while the incident was investigated.
Police have urged anyone with information on the incident to come forward. Sgt Alan Baron, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “I would appeal for anyone who saw this collision to get in touch with the police.”
