East Lancs opera singer Sean joins free festival

OPERA singer Sean Ruane will be appearing at a free music festival in Waterfoot on Saturday, July 12.

The Fest, organised by youth scheme the White Horse Project, is returning to Edgeside Park for the second year after securing cash from Youth Music Power Play, Newground Together and United Utilities.

On the day, Mr Ruane will be singing with young people from the project at 5.30pm, where he has been running workshops with his company Chant Productions.

Other acts will include covers groups A Few Good Men and headliners The Catch, alongside the winners of the White Horse Project’s contest The Talent 2013, and schools including St Anne’s Primary School.

There will also be a big screen on site, and attractions including bouncy castles, a penalty shootout competition, laser tag, face painting, badge making, and craft stalls.

On Sunday afternoon the events will conclude at 3pm with Celebrate, at St Anne’s Church in Edgeside, with the Message Trust band Vital Signs, Reach Puppets and more.

Rod Bevan, of the White Horse Project, said: “Come and enjoy a fun filled day for all the family.”
