THE standards of provision at Nelson and Colne College have been confirmed in a review by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).

A team of QAA reviewers visited the college and judged that its academic standards, the quality and enhancement of its student learning opportunities, and the quality of information about its learning opportunities all meet UK expectations.

The review praised the flexible and highly supportive approach of the Learning Resources Centre, but also recommended that external examiner reports should be more effectively shared with students.

Tracey Baron, Assistant Principal (Quality) at Nelson and Colne College, said: “The college is already recognised nationally for its outstanding practices at a further education level and we are delighted that this review of our higher education provision demonstrates that the college meets UK standards and expectations.”
