DOZENS of daredevils took the plunge during a bungee spectacular event in Darwen.

Up to £4,000 was raised for various charities during the Extreme Bungee event in the Market Square.

Those with a head for heights jumped 175ft while attached to a bungee cord in the event organised by Darwen Town Council.

Jumpers paid £60 and were encouraged to raise money for charity.

Darwen Town Council deputy chairman Pete Hollings said: “A lot of people came into town and really enjoyed it.

“We had people coming down just to watch and the people who took part loved it. We are looking at doing it again next year but that will be a decision taken in a full town council meeting.”

I`m sorry I missed this. I was away for the weekend but would have gladly paid £60 to watch my wife jump!
