BLACKBURN Central High School (BCHS) has formed a new partnership with the Inter-Madrassah Organisation's Sports Academy.

The IMO Sports Academy in partnership with BCHS aims to give young people the opportunity to gain sports-related accredited qualifications and give the young people chance to partake in competitive sports locally and nationally.

BCHS with the IMO would also like to integrate the communities through sports and social inclusion and remove any barriers and myths.

Football and netball coaching is already taking place at BCHS, and archery will be starting soon with qualified coaches. A successful netball camp also took place recently at BCHS.

The IMO is also in talks with Blackburn Council about launching swimming sessions for pupils, which are due to start soon.

Anybody interested in taking part in any of the sports can contact Mr Coulter at BCHS on 01254 505700.
